About Us
Emergcare has been empowering families through education since it was first established by paramedics in 1991.
Our innovative approach towards first aid education recognizes that the birth of a baby is also the birth of a parent. Our dedicated team are on a mission to provide essential first aid education for every family that also helps them build their village during the transition to parenthood. Our vision is an informed community where all parents have the necessary knowledge to provide effective first aid during an emergency, as well as the skills and resources to support their own mental health and wellbeing too.
Our Mission
As health professionals and paramedics, we believe CPR and first aid are lifesaving skills that should be accessible to all. Leading our industry, we collaborate to educate families and communities on preventing, identifying, and responding effectively to a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergencies. Our mission is to create safer communities by empowering individuals with these vital skills and the confidence to respond during those crucial moments while waiting for an ambulance to arrive, where immediate care can save lives.
Our Team
Hendrik Gutwirth and Daniel Parks are the Co-Directors of Emergcare
With over 30 years of combined clinical experience as Registered Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedics, Hendrik and Daniel bring a wealth of expertise to Emergcare. Hendrik has contributed to published research, facilitated professional development workshops, and acted in both Clinical Instructor and Paramedic Educator roles. Daniel has diverse experience from working across Queensland and Victoria in both metropolitan and rural areas, and acting in both Clinical Instructor and Team Manager positions.
As proud fathers collectively raising seven children, they also have firsthand insight into the concerns parents often have about injuries and illnesses in babies and young children, as well as a deep understanding of the practical first aid knowledge that families and communities need to have.
Hendrik and Daniel, along with the entire team at Emergcare, are passionate about sharing their clinical expertise and working collaboratively to offer the most comprehensive range of first aid courses and services available. As active members of the Australian Resuscitation Council (Victorian Branch), Emergcare takes a proactive interest in shaping the future of the industry and ensuring that our training remains aligned with current standards and practices. Our collaborations with leading organisations in their respective fields, including Kidsafe Victoria and the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE), also ensure that the education and services we deliver consistently exceed industry standards.
