About the Course

This innovative course is designed for new and expectant parents and is delivered in collaboration with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) and Kidsafe Victoria. Our educators will guide parents through an interactive and engaging session that includes childhood injury prevention strategies, infant and child CPR and first aid training, as well as education and evidence-based resources to help parents build their support networks and look after their own emotional wellbeing throughout pregnancy and early parenthood too. Some of the topics we will cover in this 4 hour course include:

  • Childhood Injury Prevention

  • Infant and Child CPR

  • Burns

  • Choking

  • Drowning

  • Allergies

  • Fractures

  • Head injuries

  • Bleeding

  • Fevers

  • Poisoning

  • Bites & Stings

  • Asthma & Croup

  • The Transition to Parenthood

  • Emotional Wellbeing

  • Understanding Depression & Anxiety

  • Community Resources & Support for Parents

  • And more.

Babies and breastfeeding are welcome at all of our sessions. Parents can practice their new skills and there will be time for questions too!
